Check CCDC Work Release Building Records

To find someone released from the CCDC Work Release Building or placed with the Community Supervision Unit, first define what “released” means in the record. Work release, home detention, and supervised pretrial release permit a person to leave secure jail detention under set rules. They do not always end the criminal case, local sentence, or correctional control. Calvert County work release records are best verified through the court order, CCDC program staff, and the underlying booking or sentence file. Final discharge requires a separate event. A person outside the secure unit may still have monitoring, reporting, treatment, work, or movement conditions.

CCDC Work Release Placements

The Work Release Building and Community Supervision Unit are part of the Calvert County Detention Center campus. They manage alternatives to full-time confinement rather than a separate state prison. A person can move from secure detention to work release, home detention, or supervised pretrial release. Each move permits community access under a defined court or program authority, but none should be called unconditional discharge without a later record that says so.

Supervised pretrial release occurs before the criminal case is resolved. Calvert County says admission requires court authorization or a judge’s order. Electronic monitoring and tailored treatment may be conditions. Home detention can apply to a court-authorized sentenced person in appropriate circumstances. Work release is a structured community-custody program. The exact order and CCDC file determine which status applies.

PlacementWhat leaving secure detention means
Supervised pretrial releaseThe case remains pending while the person follows court and program conditions.
Home detentionAn approved person serves time or remains controlled at home under the stated monitoring rules.
Work releaseThe person may perform approved activity outside secure detention while remaining in a correctional program.
Final dischargeThe controlling sentence, custody, or supervision authority has ended as shown by its own record.

A transfer to one of these programs is not a transfer to the Maryland Division of Correction. It also is not proof that all holds or cases have ended. Use the record’s own wording, date, and authority.

Confirm CCDC Community Release

No official public CCDC roster or program-participant search was found in the county channels reviewed. Maryland’s state correctional locator is also the wrong first tool because the Community Supervision Unit is a local CCDC operation. Confirm the placement by tracing the Calvert court order and the local record instead.

  1. Identify the criminal case, booking, and likely program. Keep the full legal name, case number, booking date, and booking number when known.
  2. Open the Maryland Case Search and Record Portal. Search both Calvert District and Circuit Court matters if the case path is unclear.
  3. Look for the signed release, sentencing, home-detention, or supervision order in the full court file. The web docket is only a summary.
  4. Contact the CCDC Community Supervision Unit for the program office. Staff can confirm only information that may lawfully be disclosed.
  5. Request the existing CCDC placement or release record through the county PIA route when written proof is needed.

Maryland VINE may supply a custody or court event when the participating agency provides it, but VINE is person-specific and supplemental. A release alert confirms the named event, not the absence of every other hold. The full Calvert County released inmate lookup separates local, state, and federal routes when the receiving system is uncertain.

Important: Describe a supported result as “released from secure detention to the named program,” not as a final discharge.

CCDC Work Release Contact

The Work Release Building is on the CCDC campus and uses the same Stafford Road location. The county directory lists public hours for the building, but the schedule does not prove that a named participant will be present or available. Call before traveling and avoid seeking private schedule or monitoring details.

The official detention-center directory identifies the Community Supervision Unit and work-release contacts. CCDC is open continuously for detention operations, while the listed Work Release Building hours are narrower. Use the main detention number when the correct extension is not known.

A person-specific record request should ask for the existing order or CCDC record that identifies the program, effective date, and status, subject to lawful access limits. Ask for segregable portions if the file includes protected medical, security, victim, or personal information. A Maryland Public Information Act request does not require staff to create a custom status report.

Calvert Community Supervision Records

Three records may describe one move from secure detention, and each owns a different fact. The court record supplies the legal authority. The CCDC program file supplies operational admission, monitoring, and exit facts. The booking or release sheet explains whether the person left the jail through a program placement, sentence event, or another route.

Court order
The signed judicial authority for pretrial release, home detention, or another condition.
Program record
The CCDC entry showing admission to, status in, or departure from a local community program.
Release sheet
The jail record of the physical exit from secure detention and its stated authority or type.
Discharge record
The record from the controlling agency that shows the relevant term of control ended.

The event dates may differ without conflict. A judge can authorize release before CCDC finishes processing. A person can leave secure detention for a program and finish that program later. State parole, Maryland mandatory supervision, and ordinary court probation are also separate from CCDC’s local program labels.

Note: Preserve the exact program name because “home detention,” “work release,” and “probation” do not mean the same thing.

Calvert Pretrial Release Authority

The local Pre-Trial Release Program is a key Calvert County distinction. It is administered through CCDC, but admission depends on court authority. A person can therefore be physically out of the secure detention unit while every charge remains pending. This status is not an acquittal, dismissal, sentence completion, or correctional discharge.

The docket may show the judge’s release decision and conditions. The full court file is the better source for the signed order. District Court and Circuit Court both matter because a Calvert criminal case can move between them. Search both court levels when the case number or procedural path is uncertain. Some information that is absent from the remote summary may still be open at the courthouse, while sealed, shielded, expunged, juvenile, and other restricted records are not public.

Electronic monitoring and tailored treatment can be part of supervised pretrial release. Do not publish a participant’s movements or monitoring details. The public record should be used only to confirm the status and controlling authority. If the order says the person remains under CCDC Community Supervision Unit control, do not describe the person as off supervision.

CCDC Home Detention Release

Calvert’s Home Detention Program provides another way a person can leave secure detention without finishing the sentence or case. For a sentenced person, home detention may allow time to be served at home when a court authorizes it and the person meets the applicable program requirements. The final order and CCDC record control the facts.

A projected end date can change. Credit calculations, violations, new court orders, warrants, detainers, and concurrent or consecutive terms may affect the result. Local sentence credits arise under Maryland Correctional Services Title 11 rather than the state-prison credit subtitle. Section 11-503 addresses presentence good-conduct credit, while §11-504 addresses postsentence good-conduct credit. CCDC records staff, not a public web calculator, are the authoritative local source for the sentence calculation.

If a home-detention placement ends, determine whether the person completed the term, returned to secure custody, moved to another supervision form, or transferred. A blank name search cannot answer that question. Ask for the program exit record, relevant court event, and final local release or sentence record when disclosable.

Note: A home address or community presence does not by itself establish that CCDC control has ended.

CCDC Program Exit Records

The cleanest program-exit request is narrow. Identify the person, booking, program, and approximate dates. Ask for the existing record that shows entry into the program, the authority for placement, status changes, and the date and type of exit. If the person returned to secure detention or transferred, ask for that destination category when it can be disclosed.

Calvert County’s PIA portal is the route for county-held records. The Sheriff Records Unit publishes prices for certain report products, but those amounts and estimates should not be treated as a guaranteed charge or response time for a Community Supervision Unit file. Ask for a fee estimate before chargeable work. Maryland law generally permits access to existing public records while allowing mandatory and discretionary withholding for protected content.

The record custodian may redact sensitive details and provide the remainder. Request the legal basis for any withholding. Court files use Maryland Judiciary access rules rather than the ordinary county executive-branch PIA process, so send the signed-order request to the correct clerk and the CCDC program-record request to the county or Sheriff custodian. A sound conclusion then names the event and its limit. “CCDC recorded placement in work release on the stated date” is narrower and more accurate than “released.” “The court later discharged probation” concerns a different record. Keeping those facts apart prevents a local community placement from being mistaken for the end of all correctional control.

Note: A program exit record should identify whether the next event was discharge, secure detention, another program, or an agency transfer.
